Treatment of Social Phobia
Of all the treatments available, Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been shown to work best for treating Social Phobia. Working together, we will relieve the symptoms of Social Phobia by:
- developing techniques to control physical symptoms
- challenging negative, unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that trigger and fuel symptoms
- facing social situations you fear in a gradual, systematic way
If traumatic stressors contribute to your Social Phobia, we may chose to supplement CBT with EMDR to help you face fearful social situations.
