Anger Management
Anger represents a valuable emotion that can motivate us to achieve remarkable things. Expressed inappropriately, anger can create negative consequences, including loss of partner, loss of children, and jail time. Anger management issues arise frequently during the course of therapy for children and adolescents. Naturally, children and adolescents have not developed the ability to regulate their emotions. Brain development, especially in the areas of emotional regulation and impulse control, is not complete for years past adolescence. The development of skills to regulate emotions and impulses are often a major component of therapy.
In addition to children and adolescents, I provide anger management counseling for adults. I utilize a workbook and individual therapy for treating anger management in adults. For people who are required to attend anger management counseling for Partner and Family Member Assault and requiring privacy, I offer an individual program to meet your needs.
